In Canada, everyone wears a poppy on Remembrance Day (Veterans Day). It is an outward sign of appreciation for those who have and do serve in the armed services,
and is a reference to the poem "In
Flanders Fields" by John McCrae.
I think it is pretty neat to see so many wearing the small red flower and showing their support.
