Blown Away

I recently watched Gone with the Wind for the first time.

I can definitely see why it was nominated for 13 Academy Awards (and won 10)--

It was beautiful, and moving, and southern, and epic, and captivating, and heart-wrenching, and stunning,

and it was really, really long.

At least now I'll be able to understand all the GWTW references still found in popular culture.

Like the curtain dress.

P.P.S.  My favorite line of the real GWTW was when Scarlett chose a dress to wear and Mammy replied:

"No you ain't!  You can't show your bosoms until three o'clock!"
