Christmas Matt, I mean, Mass

On Christmas Eve, I attened a Midnight Mass that my brother was singing at. Sitting in the row behind me was one of my high school friends, Matt. I hadn't seen him since highschool and had recently heard that he was still single. Hmm. Usually one to pass up such opportunities, I forced myself to say hi, thinking only of my future.

Me: "Matt! How are you?! Do you remember me?"
Matt: "Um...your face looks familiar...?"
Stranger in the row behind Matt: "Jill Hinckley!! What's up? Long time no see!"

It was another Matt from high school, but a cooler, more awesome-because-he-remembered-me Matt.

Matt no. 1 walked away looking confused.

Moral of the story: Sometimes life is enig-Matt-ic and is full of trivial Matt-ers.

I know this is kind of random, but since you are talking about guys named Matt.... I dated three of them. My Matt was the first Matt I dated. Then while he was on his mission I dated Matt #2 who I found out later was my third cousin. (I'm glad I never kissed him). MATT #3 I went to high school with but didn't know him in high school. While we were dating all he ever talked about was how cool he was in high school (yeah, so cool that I didn't know who he was). Funny thing about Matt #3 is that I had a date with him the night Matt #1 got home from his mission. Matt #1 got home a few days earlier than I had expected and showed up at my door unannounced. So, not knowing what to do, I ran to the bathroom to make a private phone call to Matt #3 and told him that I couldn't go out with him that night because I was puking my guts up. So then I ended up going out with Matt #1 that night and well, the rest is history.

So the moral of the story is: some Matts are your cousins, some Matts are not as cool as they think they are, and some Matts turn out to be great husbands.
