Celebratory Splurge

In honor of getting a new job, finishing finals, and turning in my graduate school application, I am buying myself this:

Lost in Austen

I ran into it while browsing on Amazon.com this morning. Being an Austen fan, I thought I'd check it out. I have never heard or seen it before but already I'm a fan. I watched the trailer (about 4 times) and was hooked. I had to buy it. Hopefully it will be here by the weekend. I'm excited!

(Check out the trailer here.)

Hired

I got a job!
I start Thursday.
Yippee!!

In Need of Pocket Change

Megan wanted a photo shoot to document her 21st birthday today. I somehow got dragged into it. I really should start charging for these things; I could be making a killing.

Here are two of my favorites:

The classic bench shot.

This is how the photo took. I did nothing to alter the color or anything else from it's original form. I just used a little trick and got an incredible shot. Isn't it cool?

Anyone want their photo taken? It will cost you...

New Favorite Thing

I've been listening to this

all day.

I like it.

Meet Sniffy

This is Sniffy.
He is my virtual laboratory rat.
I have spent the day conducting experiments on him.
It has been most interesting.

...And They Lived Happily Ever After

Chelsea and Dave got married on Saturday. Yippee!! It was cool to be able to attend the sealing of a family member, let alone my sister. Temples are AMAZING, as are the blessings and promises found inside. Aren't eternal families the best?!

Egg Hunting Season

Happy Easter (a day late) you all!!! Hope it was a good one. Here are some pics of the hunt--It was rather rousing. Enjoy!

Unsinkable

I like to watch old musicals when I bake. Today's musical (while in the midst of thousands of cookies for Chelsea's wedding reception) was The Unsinkable Molly Brown. My favorite line captures my life so well:

Man #1: Marry? Who would want to marry Molly?
Man #2: There's got to be somebody who doesn't know her.

I love old movies!

Going into Business

In Zhongli, there is a place one of my companions and I would eat at every other day or so. It was our spot. We had our table we sat at every time. We had our favorite dishes. And the staff knew we liked it hot. And what fanciful food tickled our tastebuds enough to have us eating there three to five times per week? Fried Rice. There was the spicy beef fried rice, the curry chicken fried rice, the bacon and pineapple fried rice. Yep. That delectible dish with endless possibilities.

I made Fried Rice tonight. I make it often but tonight it tasted GOOD. And I was thinking: I should open my own fried rice place, with all its wonderful varieties, just like the one in Zhongli.

What do you think?

Me and the fried rice girl.
We were like family. Sad that I never knew her name.

Saturday Night at the Hinckley's

Post-Conference sillyness with the family. Enjoy the Pics!

Maggie's hard to catch with the camera. At least I got her eye.

Fish-face.

I don't know what this is supposed to be but it freaks me out.

I promise, I am not licking her face. Good photog skills, Jamison!

Pretty Vera.

Nice chest hairs, Dan.

Just 'horsing' around!

And you thought you had fun this weekend!

My Inner Supermodel

I don't know what it is, but often, after watching ANTM, I find myself making modeling faces in the mirror. And you know what? I'm HOT!

Now, if only I were a size zero...

I've Got Skills

...Or I at least pretend to. Let's face it: my work is about as cheap as my fee. But, I'm having fun trying. I wanted to go out front, but they wanted the back. So, instead of grass and light and space, you get scaffolding, unconducive pillars, and a swimming pool. Whatever. They're the ones who have to live with these pictures.

(P.S. the green umbrella was MY idea. A Target special for only $3.48. Isn't it fun?)
